“You Don’t Get the Soft Version of Me Anymore”

There was a time when I overextended myself.

When I kept peace at my own expense.

Motherhood changed that.

Not because it hardened me.

But because it clarified me.

When you are responsible for shaping safe spaces for small humans, you learn quickly what deserves access — and what doesn’t.

Not everyone gets the soft version of me anymore.

And that’s intentional.
