The Girl I Was

She mistook chaos for chemistry.

Intensity for devotion.

Pain for proof.

She thought love meant enduring anything —

as long as it felt powerful.

No one taught her that love

should not feel like war.

So she built armor from her wounds

and called it growth.

Now she knows better.

The girl she was survived.

The woman she is

chooses differently.
